The School of Population & Public Health
Helpful Information for New Students - SPPH Student Orientation 2010

UBC's newest School was approved by Senate in the spring of 2008. Its goal is to provide a vibrant interdisciplinary academic environment at a critical time in the development of public health in Canada. The School's Inaugural Strategic Plan was completed in the summer of 2009. The rotating photos above show School facilities, and students, staff & faculty at classes, meetings or field sites.
Education

The School's main teaching focus is graduate education in areas ranging from public health to health policy. Students have a wide range of backgrounds, from arts to science to business and the health professions.
Research

The School's research and teaching examines local, national and global health challenges and spans seven themes.
